Rongsheng Holding Group Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Zhejiang University

On the afternoon of August 22, a signing ceremony for a strategic partnership between Rongsheng Holding Group and Zhejiang University was held at the Group’s headquarters. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in university-enterprise collaboration, elevating the partnership between a prestigious university and a leading enterprise to a higher level.

Ren Shaobo, Party Secretary of Zhejiang University, and Li Shuirong, Chairman of Rongsheng Holding Group, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Also in attendance were Jin Deshui, former Party Secretary of Zhejiang University, and Zhou Tufa, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province. The agreement was signed by Xiang Jiongjiong, Vice Chairman of Rongsheng Holding Group, and Huang Xianhai, Vice President of Zhejiang University. Wang Jingdai, Vice President of Zhejiang University, presided over the ceremony.

Ren Shaobo noted that Zhejiang University and Rongsheng share a deep-rooted connection and a history of close cooperation. In recent years, the two sides have strengthened strategic mutual trust and expanded the scope of their collaboration, with outstanding graduates from the university becoming a vital force within the Rongsheng Group. Against the backdrop of global industrial upgrading and the transition toward a green economy, this strategic partnership will be guided by major strategic objectives. The collaboration will focus on the forward-looking deployment of strategic and foundational R&D projects to secure a leading position in future technological innovation and serve as a new regional growth engine. Supported by high-level platforms—most notably the "Zhejiang University–Rongsheng China Green Petrochemical Innovation Research Institute"—the partnership aims to foster deep integration between scientific innovation and industrial development, thereby generating new momentum for research. Furthermore, by prioritizing high-level talent, the two sides will intensify efforts in attracting and cultivating top-tier global talent, recruiting outstanding graduates, and providing corporate professional training. By deepening this "talent reservoir," both parties aim to achieve even more fruitful outcomes, providing a powerful impetus for my country’s energy revolution and its advancement toward becoming a global leader in science and technology.

Li Shuirong highlighted that Zhejiang University possesses a comprehensive range of academic disciplines and a strong foundation in basic research, while Rongsheng Group boasts a complete petrochemical industrial chain and exceptional capabilities in engineering and industrial application. Over the years, the two sides have collaborated closely on process optimization and talent development, jointly creating various production technologies, training high-caliber professionals, and establishing teaching and internship bases. This signing marks a transition in the partnership—moving beyond a basic university-enterprise collaboration toward a deep, integrated synergy across industry, academia, research, and application. It holds significant strategic importance for innovation-driven development. Moving forward, leveraging Zhejiang Province’s "415X" advanced manufacturing cluster policy, Rongsheng Group will combine Zhejiang University’s strengths in innovation with its own industrial advantages. The goal is to establish a hub for original technologies in the green petrochemical sector and a reservoir for high-end talent, thereby contributing more substantially to Zhejiang’s ambition of becoming a global advanced manufacturing base and supporting the nation in achieving its "dual carbon" (carbon peaking and carbon neutrality) goals.

Under the agreement, both parties will fully harness their respective strengths and resources to deepen cooperation in areas such as scientific and technological innovation, the commercialization of research findings, talent cultivation, and think-tank consulting. Together, they aim to build a world-leading platform for scientific and technological innovation, attract and develop a cohort of high-level talent, consistently produce high-impact collaborative outcomes, and jointly drive high-quality development.
