Deep Industry Knowledge

Polyester filament is the most widely used synthetic fiber raw material in the global textile industry. China serves as the primary global supply hub, accounting for over 70% of total worldwide production. The industry value chain follows the sequence: PX → PTA → polyester chips → POY → FDY/DTY → weaving, dyeing, and finishing. Characterized by high market concentration and strong influence from leading enterprises, the sector is currently shifting its focus from sheer scale expansion toward structural optimization. While there is an abundant supply of conventional products, there remains a structural shortage of differentiated and functional offerings. Moving toward high-end, eco-friendly, and intelligent production will be the core theme for the "15th Five-Year Plan" period.

Application Areas

Polyester filament is primarily utilized across three major sectors: apparel, home textiles, and industrial applications. FDY, known for its high strength and smooth, lustrous surface, is frequently used for suit fabrics, linings, and umbrella materials. DTY, which is voluminous, soft, and elastic, is well-suited for knitted garments, bedding, curtains, upholstery, and automotive interiors. POY serves as an intermediate product, mainly supplied to downstream processors for texturing into DTY or composite yarns. Meanwhile, differentiated and functional fibers are increasingly expanding into specialized areas such as sportswear and outdoor gear, medical and healthcare products, automotive applications, and high-end home textiles.
